Sex-based Inequity in Healthcare & Psychology
Did you know that majority of research on ADHD is conducted on males? You may be thinking, "we can generalize our findings to apply to all people". If that is the case, stay here on ADH-She for a while. What we are seeing overtime is that female symptoms of ADHD often present themselves extremely differently, so although treatment among sexes are consistent, the way the disorder manifests itself appears to be anything but. Since there is minimal research on female ADHD. Many females may face the difficulties of being diagnosed later in life which can have negative impacts throughout their lifespan.
Intersectionality: "the interconnected nature of social categorizations such as race, class, and gender as they apply to a given individual or group, regarded as creating overlapping and interdependent systems of discrimination or disadvantage."
Our Goal on ADH-She is to provide an intersectional viewpoint, with this in mind we welcome fantastic writers from various backgrounds (hopefully with more to come!) to the site.
We hope you all join us to share, learn, and actively fight against sex-based oppression.

Reach out to our email (adhshe01@gmail.com) to inquire about submitting an article for the blog! We are looking for people who are comfortable with research but write in an informal tone. Not a writer? No problem! We are also looking for help with our social media and behind the scenes work on the site (design, marketing, etc)
A Note from the Owner
As a not only someone who has studied psychology, but a young woman with ADHD & ASD diagnoses, I have realized there is minimal support for individuals who are assigned female at birth (AFAB) in this area of mental health (See Sexism & Mental Health). During my education thus far I have taken a specific interest in gender studies and human development. This made ADH-She an obvious direction for me to take. I hope that through myself and a team of authors we can pull from peer-reviewed, academic sources along with our primary experiences to provide accessible and accurate information for neurodivergent individuals.
